Lapland small-group tour February
In February, Ylläs remains deep in winter. Snow lies thick across the forests and fells, while the noticeably longer days bring clear light and soft shades of white, blue and pale gold to the landscape.
Limited to four guests, this personally hosted Lapland small-group tour in February offers an unhurried way to experience Finnish Lapland. Rather than following a conventional winter activity schedule, the week brings together nature, local stories, regional food, traditional crafts and encounters with people who live and work here.
We’ll snowshoe to a lake considered sacred in Sámi tradition, explore the remarkable SnowVillage, and meet a local artisan and a Lapland shaman. We’ll also spend time around the fire, discover northern herbs during a creative workshop, enjoy a traditional lakeside sauna and share relaxed dinners in a warm lavvo.
Although the days are growing longer, the February evenings remain dark enough for possible Northern Lights. There is no fixed aurora-chasing programme; when the sky is clear and conditions look promising, we remain flexible and step outside together.
This is a winter journey for those who want time to experience Lapland’s landscapes, stories and people without rushing from one activity to the next.
